comments of the week

What are your thoughts on Denmark's decision to do this? How do you prefer to communicate? Do you enjoy sending / receiving letters and cards or prefer digital communication such as emails and texts?

I like to post cards and thank you letters to family members I think it is more personal and it’s a more meaningful way to send the traditional way also you get to use a pen and write and even add drawings in which I love doing and it’s not using the technology devices even though it is faster and easier maybe when I am older I will do that way.

(Chloe, Year 4)

I disagree with Denmark’s decision because writing letters is more personal and you can sometimes add little presents (like a bracelet) . My grandparents also really enjoy sending me postcards whenever they go somewhere and when I am on holiday I like to send them a postcard in return. I also enjoy the suspense and excitement of receiving a letter addressed to yourself.

Thank you for your generosity in sponsoring the children during our readathon – we managed to raise the grand sum of £739!!!!  The new books will be chosen by our pupils.

Dear Parents,

I am really excited to be able to offer you the opportunity to join us at a free event on Friday 28th March in the school hall. Ever wondered how to tackle some of the issues we face as parents and teachers around the stereotypes laid out by previous generations? Want your kids to grow up thinking they can be absolutely anything they want to be - without the consideration of any limiting factors?

FREE EVENT: 'Breaking Barriers: How to talk to your kids about gender, beyond stereotypes.'

We have an incredible expert speaker, and friend of Boutcher, coming in to talk about this really important subject. She is a co-founder of 'Festival of the Girl' a festival many of Boutcher families have attended and it was set up to inspire primary school aged kids and their grown-ups and experience a confidence boosting world - plus try anything from drilling to wrestling, coding to boxing!

IMPORTANT: There will be a creche for your little ones to attend for free so you can join us. Please bring cash should you wish to enjoy a drink from the small bar we will have or try your luck in the charity raffle (there's a hamper of beauty products up for grabs!).

Running order:

3.30-3.40 Greetings, intro's, grab a drink, enter the raffle if you wish!

3.40-4.15 The session

4.15-4.30 Q&A

Plan is this will be a super informal relaxed session for us all to learn a bit but also come together as a community to support each other through these parenting challenges! Plus there will be wine and a raffle to start your weekend off wonderfully!

We would love to see you there. Please do RSVP if possible so we have an idea on numbers (for wine and the creche!).  Click here to see Headteacher's letter and RSVP slip

Thanks

Caroline

(Mum to Zachary Y2 & Franklin Rec)

We break up for our Easter holiday on Friday 4th April, children may be collected from 12:30 but must be collected by 1:30 - thank you.
