Wellbeing Weekly

March (breathing exercises)

This week, the Wellbeing Warriors met to discuss how to make Boutcher School an even better place to be! We have lots of exciting ideas to put into motion - if you have an idea, please share it with your class representatives.

The first idea will be in place on Monday, our playground will now have a Calm Corner (a place to relax, feel calm and connect with your friends). This month, the Wellbeing Warriors will be on hand to help you learn some breathing techniques.

KS2 Weekly Junior comments

Every year on 8th March, people around the world celebrate International Women's Day, a tradition that has been recognised for more than 100 years.

If you could thank a woman from history or from today for something she has done, who would it be and why?

Yostina (Year 4)

I would thank Simmon Biles because she made me very good in gymnastics and without her, I would not be good in gymnastics. She made me feel like I would be a gymnast in the Olympics!

Matilda (Year 4)

I would like to thank Amelia Earhart because she was the first woman to fly a plane all around the world. She fought for women to have rights to also do special jobs like being a pilot. I was recently on flight to my family in Spain and I remembered Amelia when me and my sister Romy were invited into the cockpit and Romy was too shy to go in (don’t tell Romy that I said that). I wasn’t shy to have a look and it reminded me of Amelia and how brave she was to fly a plane that was not as secure as planes are today. ✈️
