KS2 Weekly Junior comments
A new piece of artwork has been revealed in central London by the street artist, Banksy.
Many people describe him as rebellious or rule-breaking, since he often paints without permission and challenges authority. At the same time, he’s seen as thought-provoking because his art often makes people stop and think about big issues like fairness, war, money, and the environment.
If you could make a picture to help people understand something important, what would it be?
Eleanor (Year 5)
I think I would make a statue of a polar bear standing on a tiny iceberg to show that icebergs are melting so the animals that live on that sort of environment are dying. My message would be that humans causing climate change is endangering animals, rising sea levels and killing plants.
Davina (Year 5)
I would make the picture of two people shaking hands as a sign of peace because one of the most important things in the world is peace because without peace there is war and conflict and the world will not be nice to each other. To make it stand out I would use blue and green to represent our awesome Earth and the painting would be huge and I would put it near Tower Bridge because it is a very visited place in London so it will be seen by a lot of people.

One very simple way to connect to nature is to get outside in your local park or a garden and draw something up close, a leaf, a tree or some flowers. You could also try finding different textures to create a nature print rubbing.

Hard copies of School Policies,
including Safeguarding are available from the office and can be read online.
