Single use plastic to be banned – what do you think about the changes that will happen later this year?
I think single use plastics should be banned because most single use plastics can easily be replaced by reusable or recyclable items. For example, takeaways should not be using polystyrene containers as they take hundreds of years to decompose, sometimes thousands. I think shops and people should be given money off to encourage them to bring their own containers. From this summer in Scotland that’s what’s going to happen. Lots of plastic items are not recycled and they end up in the river and sea harming birds and sea life and end up in the food chain. Scarlet - Year 4
