KS2 Homework Comment of the Week

Is it okay to use abbreviations?

Congratulations to Eliza in Year 4 and Bertie in Year 5 for your comment of the week!

I think that if you are writing a text message to your friends then abbreviations are okay to use sometimes but only if people know what they mean. In writing I think you should use the right words so it's easier for the teachers to tick.

(Eliza, Year 4)

I don’t think that we should use abbreviations because it can be confusing. Sayings like “BRB” as in “Be Right Back” could mean something different to someone who didn’t know the actual meaning. This could make them confused and it might also get a completely different message across.

(Bertie, Year 5)

Thank you all for your support on Sports Day, the children had a wonderful time and we hope you did too.

Our Y6 pupils are rehearsing for the Leavers’ Play and the artistic staff among us are busy making scenery and costumes.  Y6 parents please do not forget to purchase your tickets for the performance!

Our last Six O’Clock Club for this academic year will be Wednesday 19th July.

Please remember to book Open Day appointments for Tuesday 18th July (school is closed on this day).
