KS2 Homework Comment of the Week

Is it okay to use abbreviations?

Congratulations to Eliza in Year 4 and Bertie in Year 5 for your comment of the week!

I think that if you are writing a text message to your friends then abbreviations are okay to use sometimes but only if people know what they mean. In writing I think you should use the right words so it's easier for the teachers to tick.

(Eliza, Year 4)

I don’t think that we should use abbreviations because it can be confusing. Sayings like “BRB” as in “Be Right Back” could mean something different to someone who didn’t know the actual meaning. This could make them confused and it might also get a completely different message across.

(Bertie, Year 5)
