RAFT Engagement Programme

Retrofit Action For Tomorrow (RAFT) is a community interest company committed to providing education and deep retrofit advice to schools, libraries, and other community buildings on the path towards zero carbon. RAFT’s approach is to empower schools, children, families, and the wider community to improve the thermal performance, reduce the energy and carbon use of their buildings.

RAFT will be working with our school this Autumn to deliver a deep engagement programme focused on developing understanding of our school buildings and energy use. The workshops will support us in identifying immediate energy efficiency actions we might take to reduce our carbon footprint. Working together with RAFT the pupils will explore ways to save energy, decarbonise the school buildings and reduce our wider carbon emissions.

As a part of RAFT’s in-school workshops, children will be calculating the carbon footprint of our school to identify where savings can be made. We kindly ask you to fill in a short survey to give RAFT an insight into how our families commute to school. Click here to complete.

RAFT would like to invite parents, governors, and staff to an online presentation on the 24th of September from 5-6pm. This is an opportunity to introduce the wider school to RAFT’s work and upcoming engagement programme. If this is of interest to you, please register your details here and you will receive an online invite prior to the talk.

RAFT is looking forward to the start of the programme and working with our school community.

Thank you for your support!
